My Grandmother loves Ireland, she is 100% Irish and Pagan. She told me when I was younger about how her family used to have one matriarch who was consulted on important decisions. She would decide how certain heirlooms or money or family matter were handled. She was the most respected and head of the family. My Grandmother is a vehement feminist. She visited Ireland and told me about how beautiful it is there. This article really shocked me because based on the Celtic bits of knowledge I got from her I always see Ireland as some wonderland of equality. Well, it’s not and it seems conditions there are abysmal for many women.
